DreamEasy
DreamEasy is an all-herbal sleep aid that riles heavily on eastern medicine tradition to supposedly get you to sleep fast and all night long. It certainly contains a variety of herbs that are promoted in China and other asian countries as providing various benefits, though the formula may not be as consistent as it needs to be to help someone with a serious sleep issue.
DreamEasy Ingredients
- Sour Jujube – a tangy south-asian fruit which is believed to help relieve stress.
- Fleeceflower Vine – A common chinese plant that is believed to help relieve constipation, among other purported uses.
- China Root – Also known as a type of smilax, this plant is a relative of the sarsaparilla and is apparently used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis
- Arbor-vitae seed – otherwise known as white cedar tree seed, components of the plant are sometimes used to relieve headache and constipation.
- Mimosa Tree Flower – believed in eastern medicine to relieve stress and insomnia
- Licorice Root – may help relieve pain and swelling involved in respiratory problems.
DreamEasy Sleep-Inducing Effects
The company claims that these ingredients not only help you “fall asleep easily, but will help to eliminate impurities and imbalances within your body.” Certainly these are excellent ingredients and many are traditionally used as mild relaxants and to help you get to sleep better, though clinical studies on a few of these, like arbor-vitae seed for instance, are fairly inconclusive. Fleeceflower is known to help relieve some forms of indigestion and constipation, but is less likely to help you with sleep.
DreamEasy Possible Side-Effects
The only real concerns here might come with long-term use of white cedar, as it contains some chemicals known to be inhibitory neurotransmitters. From tests done on this product however, it appears that there isn’t much to worry about.
DreamEasy Overall Value
This product sells for $40 per bottle, which will give you a month’s supply. Added on to this will be a minimum of $9 shipping. This is a little bit high given the fact that modern science hasn’t shown the ingredients having much to do with sleep therapy but it may be a good formula for stress relief. For some this may be the edge they need, but for others it may be too much to pay for a mild relaxant. Basically, not a bad product if you’re willing to pay perhaps a few extra dollars than necessary.
