OxySleep
OxySleep is an over-the-counter (or rather “over-the-internet”) sleep aid that claims to give you consistent, peaceful sleep without the “groggy” feeling normally associated with sleeping pills. It also promises to relieve daily stress and anxiety and to get you to sleep fast at the end of the day. These are pretty magical claims, but this product actually may have what it takes to make good on at least some of them.
OxySleep Ingredients
The main thing you’ll notice about OxySleep is that it has a simple formula. Not only is it simple, but the primary ingredient is actually a hormone naturally produced in your body – Melatonin. The secondary ingredients are not listed and are likely to be only basic vitamins or simple binding agents for the actual pill.
OxySleep Sleep-Inducing Effects
Studies on melatonin suggest that it controls what is known as your circadian rhythm, or “sleep-wake cycle”. Healthy levels of melatonin it may help you maintain a regular, healthy sleeping pattern. Studies suggest that supplemental melatonin may also help some re-establish a healthy sleep cycle. The effects of melatonin are not quite as “sure-fire” as the OxySleep website suggests, but what we know about it is that when it starts getting dark outside, melatonin levels in your body usually rise, which helps your body prepare for sleep.
Those who have an imbalance in melatonin levels may find this product very helpful, while others may owe their lack of sleep to other issues, in which case this product may not be very effective.
OxySleep Possible Side-Effects
As melatonin is a naturally-occurring hormone in your body, there is little chance of it causing you any trouble. The only thing that might cause you any trouble is whatever secondary ingredients that may be included, which are not listed.
OxySleep Overall Value
The main issue that you will need to worry about with OxySleep is the purchasing plan. Their website is set up in a highly-cliche “Limited Time Offer” style where they want to get you on a steady auto-ship plan. This means that upon signing up for the “free” trial, they’ll enroll you in a program where you are charged $120 after 14 days for a “refill” on the product and will be charged for future shipments as well. This price is a little bit over-the-top if you ask me.
Also, the “money-back guarantee” on the product is only a guarantee if you don’t open or use it, which means you won’t really know whether or not it works. Even in this case you’ll be charged a $10 re-stocking fee. This is generally a great product, but the marketing and value of the package itself leaves something to be desired.
